The University of Houston educates students in more than 300 undergraduate and graduate academic programs and awards more than 7,800 degrees annually. As one of the top public research universities, our faculty and students conduct research through 40 research centers in every academic department. Undergraduate students choose from 120 majors and minors, while graduate level students may select from 139 master’s, 54 doctoral, and three professional degree programs.
Approximately 4,000 students live on our 667-acre Houston campus. Situated in the middle of a bustling city, the grounds feature fountains, sculptures, manicured lawns and tree-filled parks. Student life is very active with more than 500 student organizations, 16 intercollegiate sports teams, and more than 30 intramural activities.
The University of Houston Cougars have won 55 NCAA individual championships and 17 NCAA team titles, appeared in 19 bowls, five NCAA Finals Fours in men's basketball, and earned a berth to the College World Series.
